!In February 1423-24 he was one of those Scottish Barons who had
safe-conducts
to meet King James I. at Durham, and later he was one of the hostages who
were given as security for payment of the King's ransom, when his estate
was
valued at 500 merks. He was first consigned to Forthinghay and thense
transferred
to Dover Castle. The last noticer of him as a hostage appears to be 24 May
1426.
